Message from Committee Chairperson

Contributing to sound and sustainable growth by balancing business expansion and sustainability initiatives

Over the past 45 years, I have built my career across diverse corporate cultures and industries: starting with a conservative yet transformational German chemical company, followed by a rapidly growing American semiconductor materials venture, and most recently, a long-established Japanese chemical company. My experience spans a wide range of fields including sales, corporate planning, new business development, global business expansion, M&A and integration management, domestic subsidiary establishment, and strategic partnerships- primarily in the pharmaceutical and semiconductor materials sectors. PeptiDream is a young and fast-growing company with its proprietary drug discovery platform, PDPS (Peptide Discovery Platform System) at its core. As the company and its employees continue to evolve through various stages of growth, I hope to leverage my broad experience to support the development of both talent and business at PeptiDream.

Since joining PeptiDream as an outside Director, I’ve had the opportunity to engage deeply with the company. I see it as a place where young professionals thrive in a free and dynamic environment. At the same time, I believe it is crucial to swiftly build and enhance the infrastructure that supports such an environment. As a research-driven innovative company transitions into a company that contributes to society, we must continue to meet the expectations of all stakeholders by aligning business growth with sustainability efforts in a coherent and balanced manner.

To achieve this, I believe it is especially important to focus on the governance within the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework. As companies grows, governance must evolve in a way that is appropriate for each stage of development. In my role as Chair of the Sustainability and Governance Committee and as an outside Director, I am committed to promoting this approach and contributing to the sound and sustainable growth of the company.
